Our paper on the Universal Migrator is out

We published a paper: A Quantum Path Towards Super Intelligence (PDF). Here's what it says, in plain terms.

The idea

Today's AI, even the biggest models, just does math. Same input in, same output out, every time. A physicist named Roger Penrose has long argued that human minds do something math alone can't: recognize truths no calculation can prove. If he's right, no amount of scaling AI will ever close that gap.

Penrose's theory for where the "extra" comes from: quantum physics, specifically something strange that happens inside the brain called Orch-OR. We're building on that idea.

What we're testing

We built a system, the Universal Migrator, that connects an AI to real quantum hardware. The AI feeds its "attention" into qubits, which then collapse, the same physical process Penrose points to. We record thousands of these collapses and check: do they land on the mathematically "correct" answer more often than plain randomness would?

We're using the Fibonacci sequence as the test case (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8...), the same kind of universal math sequence SETI uses when trying to signal alien intelligence.

Where things stand

We've started running the experiment on IonQ's quantum computers. Full details are in the paper.
